Haiti – “You Are Not Alone”

Posted in The World with tags , , , on January 22, 2010 by David

6 days…7 days…10 days…2 weeks… pass and it’s easy for those of us not in the middle of the tragedy in Haiti to forget about the struggles that millions of people are facing. Consider this a reminder to stay active and engaged.

7 years

I can’t believe it’s been seven years…

That morning was one that I will always remember. Watching the news, listening to the radio, the respect that was shown when saying the pledge of allegiance in French class…

It was a day that changed this nation and the world.

Just About Ready For Fall

Posted in The World with tags , on July 26, 2008 by David

Dare I say that I am just about ready for fall. I know all of us in Washington missed spring and summer has been pretty great, but I think I’m ready for fall like weather.

I’m one of those people who loves every season. Winter, spring, summer or fall…I love them all.

Whether it’s the warmth of the summer, the chill of the fall, the snow of the winter or the rebirth of the spring, each season is incredible.

What season do you like most? Or, are you like me and enjoy them all?

I Want To Move To Holland

The other day I went to the mailbox and inside I found both the June and July issues of Bicycling magazine.

I had been wanting to get a subscriptions for quite a while so to find that somehow I had a subscription was great. If someone bought it for me, thank you!

Anyway, this evening I was reading through the June issue and came across an article about a couple and their experiences riding through Holland. The article also chronicled the biking culture in europe and I have to say that after reading the article there is a part of me that wants to move to Holland.

What an incredible culture.

Read the article and let me know if it leaves you longing for a slower, more environmentally friendly way of life.

In my opinion Bellingham, WA is one of the most beautiful cities in America. I loved my time in Bellingham and miss the laid back lifestyle, the natural beauty, and the local culture. For those of you who have never been to Bellingham, here are a bunch of pictures for you to drool over.

This is just a glimpse. If you want to see more, google Bellingham and you’ll find these photos and many more.

Pray For Russia

There is an interesting article in the New York Times about the religious climate in Russia. It sounds like a sad situation over there. We need to pray that God will touch the lives of those in power.

“We deplore those who are led astray — those Jehovah’s Witnesses, Baptists, evangelicals, Pentecostals and many others who cut Christ’s robes like bandits, who are like the soldiers who crucified Christ, who ripped apart Christ’s holy coat,” declared the priest, the Rev. Aleksei D. Zorin. (Russian Orthodox Priest)
